In 2023, I.C.O.S. further strengthened its employee welfare program, focusing on four key areas: healthcare, income support, training, and culture & leisure.
Key initiatives included investments in technical and people skills training, organizational and management improvements, the addition of new roles within the company, and the systematic management of production processes and skills transfer, along with support and reward programs.
Importantly, we launched a dedicated guidance service for all employees: The social point, as we like to call it, is aimed at enhancing the relationship between the company and its people. This initiative offers personnel practical support in accessing company benefits (such as supplementary health insurance and contractual welfare funds) and local welfare services offered by social enterprises.
Our approach to employee welfare focuses on the well-being of the whole person. We care not just for workers in their professional roles, but also for the people behind the job.
I.C.O.S.'s action plan aims to address as many aspects of each employee's life as possible, encompassing various areas, including healthcare, relationships, community engagement, and support.
Health is a key priority. As far as healthcare is concerned, we provided dental hygiene packages and preventive care programs in partnership with Centro Dentistico Romagnolo and Ospedali Privati Forlì, a large dental clinic and a group of private hospitals respectively. We aim to protect our employees' health, promote a new model of prevention and awareness, and provide financial support for expert medical consultations through Sanarti (an insurance plan covering employees’ healthcare).
Specifically, Centro Dentistico Romagnolo provided dental hygiene services, including hygiene and curettage (€110.00 value) or hygiene alone (€73.00 value). We also offered preventive care packages in partnership with Ospedali Privati di Forlì, with a focus on vision, dermatological, and cardiovascular screening—including blood tests and a number of specific investigations. In total, we invested approximately €3,000 to support all these healthcare initiatives.
Another area demonstrating the close relationship between the company and its employees is income support, which aims to help employees feel supported in managing their daily expenses. We leverage the Eber fund, the welfareX platform, and our company welfare regulations to achieve this.
Through the Eber fund, we processed applications totaling €7,200.00 in benefits. The welfareX platform facilitated reimbursements and vouchers for various needs. Of the total spending recorded for purchase vouchers and service vouchers, 26.5% were for grocery vouchers, 18.8% for fuel vouchers, and the remaining 20.1% for other expenses (clothing, electronics, phone top-ups, etc.).
Service vouchers were used for travel (25.8%) and sports & leisure activities (8.8%). Reimbursements primarily covered education-related expenses, including textbooks for school and university (€1,163.28) and tuition fees for universities and master's programs (€4,569.39). The total cost of vouchers and reimbursements reached €5,816.52, while the total welfare amount provided by I.C.O.S. was €11,780.85.
Recognizing the importance of human connections, we invest in cultural and leisure activities to strengthen relationships among employees. We achieve this through social events and recreational activities.
Training also plays a key role in our welfare strategy, enhancing employees' knowledge and skills to boost their professional capabilities and expertise. We provide both interpersonal and technical training, offering opportunities for professional growth, increased self-esteem, autonomy, and essential soft skills. This, in turn, contributes to greater job satisfaction. Relational training provides employees with tools to foster positive relationships at work and in their personal lives.
In 2023, we delivered 588 hours of training related to organizational culture and technical/professional skills. Organizational culture topics included leadership and decision making, corporate culture, and teamwork skills. Technical skills training focused on blueprint reading and tool management optimization. The total value of paid time off for training was €16,064.16, while the cost of paid training amounted to €6,455.
